In what continues to be an unusual environment related to the pandemic, the IRS has extended the tax filing and payment deadline to May 17th! The extension does not apply to 1st quarter 2021 estimated tax payments and it does not apply to state income tax filing and payment deadlines. As of now, the deadline to file and pay Virginia income taxes is still May 1st. The IRS is planning to release further guidance soon.
